Job Summary
We seek a highly skilled Controls Project Manager with expertise in the commercial mechanical construction sector to join our San Jose, CA team. This role is perfect for professionals passionate about building automation systems (BAS) and with the technical know-how to manage complex control projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in BACnet DDC controls and a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire lifecycle of control projects, including planning, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems.
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of BACnet, DDC controls, and control systems such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, and Johnson Controls Metasys to ensure successful project execution.
- Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet project milestones and maintain clear communication throughout the process.
- Create and review project documentation using AutoCAD, Visio, and other design software. Ensure accuracy and compliance with all technical and regulatory standards.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to the project team, ensuring efficient project delivery and addressing issues.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required. EIT or PE license is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in controls project management with a stable and local work history in San Jose.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio and familiarity with building automation systems such as Tridium Niagara, DDC, Johnson Controls, and Schneider Electric.
- Knowledge of BACnet and DDC control systems, as well as hands-on experience with systems like ALC, Alerton, Distech, and Metasys, is essential.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Trimble AutoBid, MS Project, Revit, and Navisworks is highly preferred.
