Join our global drafting department as a Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician II, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our worldwide Clients Optical Fiber and Cable manufacturing operations. This position focuses on creating, revising, and managing electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom-designed process equipment.

What You'll Do
- Create and modify 3D models and associated drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Assist drafting lead with pre-release drawing set completion
- Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models
- Generate 2D drawings from existing 3D models
- Implement engineering team data into appropriate drawings
- Collect and incorporate production floor measurements into drawings
- Ensure all work adheres to company drafting standards
- Work with detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly drawings
Required Qualifications
Education (one of the following)
- A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree
- A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree
- Drafting Certificate/Certification
- Other technical degrees with demonstrated drafting skills will be considered
- Non-degreed candidates must have 2+ years of relevant experience
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years professional mechanical drafting experience
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software
- Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards
- Strong Windows-based computer skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Excellent work ethic
- Ability to adapt to company standards and guidelines
Work Schedule & Environment
- 1-year contract position through third-party agency (opportunity for extension based on performance and workload)
- Hybrid schedule: 3-4 days work from home
- Base hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Expected overtime: 45 hours per week target

- This role focuses on drafting and modeling existing designs
- No new design activities are within the scope of this position
- Position involves working with a global team across multiple manufacturing locations
