Scope of the Ocean Export Position
Ensure the timely and accurate movement of freight and information while delivering excellent customer service in the Ocean Export Department.
Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $22-$25 per hour DOE
Hours: Monday- Friday 8a-5p 100% in office.
Key Responsibilities of the Ocean Export Position
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into the operational system
- Track and trace Ocean Export shipments, providing regular reports
- Ensure compliance with internal, external, and government regulations
- Optimize operational efficiency and productivity through best practices
- Maintain and update customer standard operating procedures (DLSOPs)
- Manage overseas communications with timely responses to internal and external inquiries
- Escalate issues to management when necessary
Freight Process
- Receive and prepare shipment documents
- Route, process, and monitor shipments
- Secure bookings with ocean carriers or gateways
- Coordinate truckers/dray providers to meet customer requirements
- Handle export customs filings
- Process files according to SOPs
- Execute billing and shipment status notifications, including delay/roll notices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of the global logistics industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive with excellent organizational abilities
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Fluent in English
