**YOU MUST BE ADMITTED AND IN GOOD STANDING AS AN ATTORNEY IN VERMONT TO APPLY**
Medium sized law firm based in Massachusetts looking for a licensed attorney to handle Vermont workers' compensation defense cases.
New Hampshire and Maine would be a bonus.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Duties:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on various legal matters
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support legal proceedings
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
- Prepare and present legal arguments and evidence in court
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the Vermont state bar association and licensed to practice law in Vermont
- Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and practices
- Proficient in legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective legal drafting and communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice
- Strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team of attorneys and support staff
