You will assist the Claims Department with processing claims. What You'll Do:
- Submits claims information accurately (correct carrier, correct carrier reporting e-mail address, and correct policy number) and timely (same business day) to carriers. Claims are to be reported via e-mail so there is a “paper trail”
- Documents the details of the claim appropriately and thoroughly in Epic; creates Epic claim and sets up an activity on the claim to follow-up for claim acknowledgement – adjuster information and claim number
- Summarizes all claim updates in Notes section of Activities in Epic
- Attaches all claim updates to Attachments in Epic for each Activity
- Sets timely follow-ups / diaries / activities to verify carrier adjuster contact information and claim number and provides information to client (and Claims Advocate, where applicable) immediately upon receipt same business day. Claims Coordinator follows up for this information until received.
- The claim acknowledgement is documented in Epic Attachments along with the e-mail notification to client.
- Once adjuster information and claim number have been received, places activity under Claims Advocates Epic ID and notifies Claims Advocate of same for high-revenue/high-touch clients
- For all other low-touch clients and low-touch claims, Claims Coordinator continues to follow-up for claims status until the claim is closed by the carrier and documents updates appropriately in Epic. This includes summarizing all claims updates as well as attaching documentation (e-mails, letters, etc.) to the claim activity
- Claims Coordinator notifies Claims Advocate any time a low-touch/low-reserved claim materially changes (including, but not limited to: medical only workers’ compensation claim becoming surgical or lost time; increase in reserves, etc.)
- Proven demonstration of desire to learn through various C.E., Total CSR, and Insurance Designation Programs
What you'll Need:
- At least 1 year of related Commercial Lines Claims experience
- Strong Outlook abilities preferred.
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Tech savvy; ability to learn multiple systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Agency Management software
