Overview:
NuCoat is seeking a skilled and organized Technical Service Representative to join our team. This role is vital in providing top-notch technical support to our customers, ensuring they achieve optimal results with our coating products. The Technical Service Representative will be responsible for conducting client visits, evaluating spray equipment, demonstrating products, and building strong customer relationships. You will also be responsible for producing high-quality, detailed trip reports and service documentation. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time to visit customer sites, both domestically and potentially internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support & Site Visits:
- Conduct regular on-site visits to current customers to assess their operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Document trip reports, including customer needs, challenges, and recommendations, and ensure all reports meet leadership requirements.
- Follow up with customers to ensure issues are resolved and solutions are properly implemented.
Equipment Evaluation & Recommendations:
- Evaluate customer spray equipment and recommend solutions that align with their operational requirements.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of various types of spray equipment and their applications in different settings, from small operations to large-scale production lines.
- Partner with customers to optimize equipment use for maximum efficiency and product performance.
Product Demonstrations:
- Conduct product demos for prospective customers, showcasing the benefits and effectiveness of NuCoat’s coatings.
- Provide technical guidance during demos to address customer questions and concerns.
- Work closely with the sales team to support the business development process and secure new customers.
Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain strong, trusting relationships with customers to ensure long-term business partnerships.
- Serve as a point of contact for technical inquiries, providing customers with accurate, timely, and helpful information.
- Help customers achieve continuous improvement by regularly auditing their processes and offering new ideas for growth.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Create detailed and professional reports after each site visit or customer interaction, as per company guidelines.
- Ensure that all reports clearly outline the work completed, equipment recommendations, customer feedback, and action items.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine reporting processes and ensure alignment with NuCoat’s business goals.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Work closely with NuCoat's internal teams, including sales, product development, and leadership, to align on customer needs and solutions.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends, coating technologies, and spray equipment advancements to provide customers with innovative solutions.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain a high level of technical expertise in both products and equipment.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a technical service, field support, or customer-facing technical role, preferably in the coatings or manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience with spray equipment (e.g., curing units, HVLP, automatic spray) is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and troubleshoot spray equipment and paint applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to produce professional, detailed reports.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM systems.
Work Environment & Travel:
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays, to customer sites across various regions.
- Comfortable working in both office and industrial environments.
- Must be able to lift equipment or tools required for product demonstrations and equipment evaluations.
