Position Summary:
Reporting to the Practice Manager of the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic, with clinical oversight by the Director of Women and Childrens Services, the Registered Nurse is responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to quality outcomes in high risk pregnancies. This position is responsible to assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of physicians. The position has the responsibility to provide excellent Nursing care and service to patients, their families, physician office staff, hospital personnel and related outside agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Uses the nursing process to provide for the physical, emotional and education needs of a wide variety of patients planning or experiencing a high-risk pregnancy.
- Safely employs fetal monitoring devices.
- Critically evaluates accuracy of data collected.
- Formulates nursing interventions based upon data obtained from patient monitoring
- Provides consistent care coordination, assessing and supporting patient and their family needs throughout the entire pregnancy journey
- The role requires education of healthcare providers and patients on maternal fetal medicine and bridging gaps in healthcare services in the community.
- Provides educational triage, supporting patient needs and referrals, facilitating physician recommendations, and ensuring patient compliance and understanding
- Ensures quality care is consistently threaded throughout all aspects of care and programming, practicing confidentiality and professionalism, as well as responding to consultation requests in a timely manner
- Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process.
- Keeps informed of initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of team or committee work into practice.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors
2+ Years Antepartum experience
Current CA RN license. Current Healthcare Provider BLS upon hire, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Bilingual Spanish Preferred
Intermediate computer knowledge required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
Competence in applying teaching-learning theories to the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational experiences required
Pay range: $50.00 to $65.00
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
