The Opportunity
This leadership opportunity reports directly to the President of the company and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Construction Department. This position will lead, mentor, and manage all construction employees, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role also involves regular travel to job sites to ensure project oversight and compliance. The right candidate for the opportunity will have extensive construction management experience building multi-family housing communities.
- Participate actively in executive meetings, providing insights and updates on construction projects and departmental performance.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the executive team to ensure alignment and support across all departments in order to maximize the benefit of being a vertically integrated company.
Leadership & Management:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Construction Department. Page
- Represent the Construction Department in executive meetings and report on project status.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Training and Development:
- Oversee the continuous professional development of the construction team, ensuring they have access to the latest training and industry best practices.
- Develop succession plans to ensure leadership continuity within the department.
Risk Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential project risks.
- Monitor and improve the quality of all contracts, forms, and standard exhibits.
- Coordinate and direct subcontract resolutions for best outcomes.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the Construction Department.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatorychanges.
Performance Metrics:
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of construction projects and the department as a whole.
- Provide regular updates to the President and executive team on project statuses, departmental performance, and strategic initiatives.
