Develops, applies, and maintains quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
• Serves as a Quality Assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
• Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
• Designs and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the AS9100 and ISO 9000 and ISO14001 requirements.
• Promotes and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports.
• Assists in process certification.
• Coordinates with production if there is a problem with the product, personnel safety, or potential damage to the equipment and/or tool and process.
• Familiar with programming techniques associated with CMM’s, vision systems and articulating arms.
• Reviews customer’s purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
• Develops, executes, and analyzes quality reporting measures.
• Reports to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
• Reviews suppliers purchase orders and establishes supplier quality requirements.
• Participates in internal and external quality audits.
• Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assures that effective corrective action is implemented.
• May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
• Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
• Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Ability to apply mathematical fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Interpret CAD drawings and data comprehension.
• Ability to troubleshoot most any problems dealing with processes or production.
• Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and must be able to perform shop math.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to write and read English
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Technology or equivalent (or Associates’ Degree in these fields plus minimum four years industrial experience).
• Minimum four years industry experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar programs.
