Summary:
Capital Procurement Specialist to work on large scale purchasing of a wide variety of supplies, materials, and equipment. Work involves being responsibility for the economical purchasing of large quantities of complex items. Work requires familiarity with specifications and quality of items purchased. Work includes frequent contact with county departments and officials and frequent contact with vendor salesmen and shipping representatives. While supervision is not ordinarily an aspect of this work, coordination may be required over purchases being handled by more than one staff member. Work is performed independently within established policies, procedures, and purchasing regulations, and is reviewed by superiors through conferences and reports.
Title: Sr. Capital Procurement Specialist
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA - Onsite
Duration: 12 months with potential for extension/conversion
Responsibilities: • Prepares specifications; tabulates bids. • Recommends vendor to be awarded contract. • Reviews and approves requisitions. • Construct verbal and written quotations. Processes purchase orders. • Investigates commodities and sources of supply. • Interviews salesmen, Expedites orders. • Confers with using agencies and officials. • Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports. • Performs related work as required.
Qualifications: • Managing construction projects in the medical environment and knows some of the suppliers and requirements. • Experience and knowledge of CAPEX & Project accounting • Contract Negotiation with success stories • Knowledge of the various types and grades of commodities. • Knowledge of sources of supply and of market and price trends. • Basic Costing knowledge • Statutory reporting experience • Ability to prepare moderately complex specifications and to analyze and tabulate bids. • Preferably experience/knowledge in SAP procurement related modules such as Source list, PIR and material master. • Ability to meet and deal with using agencies and vendors. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • Experience in the purchasing of a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Education: • Must have 3-5 years experience w/ Bachelor's Degree; Master's Preferred • Managing construction projects in the medical environment and knows some of the suppliers and requirements. • Experience in negotiating pricing and terms, contract review and creation, placing PO’s, and managing invoices from suppliers from a Biotech/Medical Industry.
