Title: Real Estate Transactional Attorney – Finished Lot Land Development/Homebuilding/Landbanking
Note: This position requires employee to be on-site in the Scottsdale, AZ office, but depending on level of experience remote arrangement may be considered.
Note: Bar admission to any state is acceptable for this position, but AZ is preferable.

Our client is a boutique law firm specializing in transactional real estate, focusing on land acquisition, sales and development and heavily geared to the transactions involving homebuilders. They have an extensive portfolio across 25+ states, handling significant land banking and lot servicing deals as well as land acquisition, development, and real estate financing in Arizona and representation of master planned community developers in Arizona.
Job Description
- Handle all aspects of land banking transactions nationally on behalf of land bankers providing capital to public and private homebuilders, including conducting due diligence, title review, drafting documents and closing
- Draft and negotiate real estate contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, land development agreements, and financing arrangements.
- Work closely with capital sources, developers and landowners on a variety of real estate projects.
- Organize and attend to closings for various transactional real estate matters involving land banking and acquisition and sales .
- Assist with loan transactions on behalf of secured lender clients typically fast hard money lending
- Collaborate with local counsel in multiple states to ensure compliance with regional real estate laws.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transactional real estate law, with a focus on land transactions with home builders and sale of finished lots.
- Experience with landbanking transactions or sale of finished lots is highly preferred. Extensive commercial leasing experience or commercial development experience is NOT valuable
- Knowledge of homebuilder transactional dealings, including acquisition and sale of finished lots.
- Extensive commercial leasing experience or commercial development experience is NOT valuable
- Bar admission in any state is acceptable, but preference will be given to candidates licensed in AZ or with experience in the primary states of operation (AZ, CA, FL, TX, NV, Northwest, the Carolinas and GA).
- Ability to work full-time in the Scottsdale, AZ office; may consider hybrid schedule or remote arrangement depending on experience level.
