Quality Manager - comm'l heat treat
Established and growing heat treat seeks an experienced Quality Manager to supervise a diverse team quality technicians/engineers and assist with on-boarding and training of new staff as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain facility accreditations and manage third party and customer audit processes
- Ensure that quality-related procedures/instructions are current and add value to the operation
- Maintain regular KPIs related to:
- Quality
- Health, Safety & Environment
- Continuous Improvement
- Oversee the facility’s training schedule and records, pulling on other Managers to develop training materials and carry out required and value-added training in their respective departments
- Participate in relevant employee training and performance review activities
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure that shop order procedures are diligently followed
- Ensure equipment calibration is maintained according to required accuracy/frequency
- Review, control and maintenance of calibration and quality records including furnace charts, job cards, P.O.s, certifications and lab samples
- Assign and review non-conformances to HTS Aurora QMS and coordinate their disposition and resolution using appropriate RCA/CAPA methodology
- Control relevant sub-contractors and vendors by audit, surveillance and/or review of subcontractor documentation and maintain an approved vendor list
- Provide occasional after-hours support for quality/metallurgy-related issues
Minimum Required Education, Skills, Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical field (Metallurgy, Materials Science or similar)
- 5 years relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a Quality Management/Metallurgy role. Experience in the heat treatment industry is an asset.

- ISO 9001
- AS9100
- IATF 16949
- CQI-9
- Nadcap (heat treatment)
- ISO 14001
- AMS 2750
- General understanding of heat-treating processes and equipment
- Physical and mental readiness for occasional business travel
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Excellent English verbal and written communication/negotiation skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to organize own work
- Valid driver's license
