What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead strategic search and evaluation of vendors domestically as well as overseas
- Serve as a liaison between internal Beckwood customer and external suppliers
- Establish and maintain sound professional relationships with vendors
- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms and delivery to meet requirements
- Monitor ERP procurement requests and direct requests from engineering, production and service departments
- Generate purchase orders to vendors
- Notify and keep internal departments up to date of purchase order status
- Responsible for running key reports weekly
- Attend project meetings with cross functional teams
- Strong analytical skills with experience of using Excel to conduct quantitative analysis
- Reduce vendor back orders and late deliveries through consistent communication with vendors
- Quickly resolve purchase order conflicts with vendors
- Notify vendors of quality issues and manages supplier disposition/corrections
- Coordinate returned goods to vendors for credit
- Collaborate with warehouse on inventory items
- Recommend vendor managed inventory opportunities
- Complete and report on quarterly vendor scorecard ratings
- Arrange for incoming freight of components
- Develop and contributes to company continuous improvement plans
- Develop and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation
- Reading/reviewing and interpreting drawings or blue prints
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group. May act as lead or first-level supervisor.
Required Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in Purchasing
- Organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills and experience directing the work of others
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lead and manage change
- Computer skills and proficient in Word and Excel
- Experience using ERP system, Genius ERP preferred
