The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support for the Construction and Development groups. Evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for multi-family residential projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work and identify potential cost impacts.
- Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality or functionality of the project.
- Maintain and update cost databases and unit price catalogs to ensure the accuracy of estimates.
- Work closely with chief estimator, project managers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
- Stay informed about market trends, material prices, and labor rates to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, necessary, College degree in construction preferred
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
- 2 years of Estimating experience
- 3 - 5 years' of construction experience
- Multi-family experience desired
