Southwest Electric Is looking for a Welder/ Fabricator Supervisor.
1st Shift
Summary:
The Welder/ Fabricator Supervisor is responsible for the overall production in the Welding/ Fabrication department. In addition, this Working Supervisor will manage the team, the quality of their work, and their productivity. This position is responsible for welding and fabricating of steel enclosures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and direct the work activities of assigned fabrication team members to ensure product quality, efficient work habits and on time completion of jobs.
Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and quality, reduce cost, decrease scrap and reduce product rework.
Train, develop, and evaluate staff and set required performance standards. Coordinate with the Operations Manager to take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Ensure Compliance with current and federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resource Department as appropriate.
Ensure adequate capacity for current production needs and support analysis to ensure future capacity.
Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing and operations.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and engineering staff to ensure the efficient scheduling of equipment and manpower.
Implement, document, update and manage manufacturing equipment logs and standard operating procedures and practices.
Ensure the timely reporting and resolution of production build issues with engineering. Interface with the Operations Manager and engineering staff to address concerns, work on special projects, and improve efficiency.
Ensure and enforce compliance with safety, health and environmental rules including, but not limited to ensuring the use of proper PPE, following Safety rules and taking corrective action when necessary.
Qualifications:
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
· Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
· Ability to lift 50 + lbs., climb ladders, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
Education and/or Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED, 2-year Technical Degree or Associated Degree preferred.
Three to Five Years of experience Managing Welders and Fabricators.
Five Years Prior Welding, Sheet Metal Forming, or Fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
Specific Skills:
Ability to set-up and operate all types of Welding equipment (TIG, MIG).
Ability to set-up and operate Whitney Punch Press.
Ability to operate a non-CNC Press Brake and Shear.
Demonstrate ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
