ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
VedaBio is looking for an exceptional candidate to be an integral part of our mission to disrupt molecular detection, joining a world-class team that is redefining and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with our novel biochemistries. As part of a highly collaborative and cross-functional team, you will bring your technical depth and breadth, curiosity, and creativity to be a key technical contributor in developing highly multiplexed molecular IVD CRISPR assays and integrating them into our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide flexible and adaptable support for the core R&D team as needed.
- Under limited supervision, execute laboratory tasks including but not limited to experimental setup and execution, data collection/documentation, reagent preparation, material handling and inventory, instrument management and instrument calibration.
- Assist in generating and maintaining the inventory systems, including materials, reagents, and clinical specimen stocks.
- Assist in experimental design, collect and document experimental data, present data, and draw appropriate conclusions and interpretations.
- Assist in writing protocols, work instructions and reports.
- May handle, manage, and/or dispose of biohazard waste, and assist in general laboratory maintenance and cleaning.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills, professional communication, flexibility, and ability to work in a team or independently.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- B.S./M.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
- 4-6 years experience working in a research laboratory in a relevant industry setting.
- Molecular biology experience and experience handling infectious agents is preferred.
- Experience in IVD product development preferred.
- Extensive experience with general laboratory skills including instrument operation, pipetting, sterile techniques, and operation of laboratory equipment/automation.
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
- Highly self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work across multiple projects.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Work Environment:
Employee works in an office and laboratory environments with a moderate amount of noise and activity. The work environment is fast-paced and demanding.
VedaBio provides a competitive total compensation package including the ability to purchase company stock, receive annual bonuses and participate in benefit and 401k programs The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, CA is $72,000 to $104,000.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. VedaBio is a multi-state
