Role Description:
moleko™, a leading producer of sulfur-based specialty chemistries, is looking for an experienced, self-motivated water treatment account manager with a hunter mentality to win new customers within the water treatment segment nationwide. The incumbent will take over a developing existing territory, focusing on chemicals used in water dechlorination systems. Emphasis will be placed on landing new businesses with industrial water treatment accounts, identifying strategic distribution partners, and growing market share with mid- and large-size municipalities. Over 50% of the role will focus on new business development/product introduction.
Key Accountabilities (Performance Profile):
- A proven track record of identifying new potential markets for selling products and developing lists of potential prospects (a “go get it” mentality).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of water treatment processes and value chain.
- Comfort working with CRM and various data management tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Desired previous experience in municipal water/wastewater treatment bid processes.
- Management of distribution partners is a plus.
- Membership within industry associations and/or a strong network with industry influencers is an asset.
- A proactive, problem-solving, and customer-centric style.
- Provide appropriate quotations/proposals to gain and retain business.
- Clearly communicate with moleko management by providing appropriate oral and/or written reports on product markets, opportunities, threats, or issues.
- Provide data and information as needed to support the annual budgeting process and ongoing performance dialogs/reviews.
- Represent the company in a professional manner, including attending trade shows and participating in other industry events.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in sales within the water treatment/process industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the confidence to close new businesses and develop current accounts.
- Willingness to travel and work in industrial environments, adhering to stringent safety protocols.
- Must be comfortable working alone; must be self-motivated.
- MS Office expertise required; SAP experience is a plus.
- Willing to travel at least 50% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of visiting a chemical plant environment and wearing any/all required PPE (glasses, hard hat, work boots, respirator).
