Job Summary
- We are looking for a senior system engineer with experience in timing requirements of electronic systems used by the Aerospace and Defense industry and or US military.
- Oversee the understanding of existing and future electronic systems used by the aerospace and defense industry and military related to timing products including, clocks, oscillators, clock trees, synchronization of time and frequency, GNSS, APNT, Radar, PGM, UAVs, networking, and communication.
- Manage, support, and track Aerospace and Defense product development projects internal and external. Represent SiTime in customer meetings presenting progress and performance data. Engagement and support of SiTime development teams to ensure technical requirements and schedule are being met. Support the characterization and data generation for project deliverables.
- Support in defining new products to be developed for the Aerospace and Defense market, including the interaction with SiTime’s engineering organization to identify the best and most successful product architecture.
- Design and create test configurations and scenarios to match Aerospace and Defense customer mission profiles. Compile test results and prepare customer and marketing presentation.
- Capable of presenting to customers and SiTime leadership on project status.
- Support the sales team with technical merits, design experience, system solutions, and in-depth knowledge of the current product offering and the product roadmap.
- Support customer design efforts by understanding the timing requirements, identifying the best timing solutions and key values of SiTime’s timing products in the customers system.

Responsibilities:
- Manage comprehensive understanding of timing requirements in Aerospace and Defense applications, identify key values of our products to accelerate the adoption.
- Support marketing and sales with collateral including data demonstrating the values and advantages of SiTime products.
- Managing new customer funded product development projects withing the Aerospace and Defense business unit. This will include interfacing with cross functional teams such as central engineering, MEMS, CMOS, operations, and test. You will be accountable for managing schedule and product maturation.
- Preparation and presentation of progress reports to customers/government agencies funding the project.
- Support the sales and business development team generating proposals for government funding and customer roadmap requests.
- Product definition and insertion into SiTime’s product roadmap process based on Aerospace and Defense customer requirements. You will act as the Aerospace & Defense business unit connection to SiTime’s engineering and operation functions.
- Travel to customer locations to support sales, qualification, verification, debugging, etc. Most travel will be in the USA with occasional international travel possible.
Qualifications & Requirement:
- MS or PHD in engineering, 10+ years of work experience.
- Prior experience with timing components or systems.
- Understanding of key technical aspects of precision timing such as Allan Deviation (ADEV), phase holdover, jitter, aging, retrace, frequency and phase stability.
- Experience in characterization, testing, and data analysis of typical clock parameters such as frequency stability over temperature, phase noise, ADEV, TDEV, jitter, phase error, vibration sensitivity, shock sensitivity, using measurement and control software such as Matlab.
- Experience in working with customers on engineering problems and architectures.
- US citizen.
- Good communication skills able to interact and present to customers and government agencies.
Desired Characteristics & Attributes:
- Multi-disciplinary engineering problem solving skills.
- Experience working with timing systems in a laboratory.
- Experience with applications such as GPS, A-PNT, RF, Radar, time synchronization
- Experience in working with government agencies such as DARPA, ARL, AFRL, NRL, etc.

Base pay is one part of SiTime’s Total Rewards Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity-based compensation.
