LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our client's manufacturing team. The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and adherence to safety policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment. This role involves conducting safety inspections, training employees on safety protocols, and investigating accidents to prevent future occurrences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.
- Conduct Safety Inspections: Perform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Training and Education: Provide training to employees on safety protocols, proper equipment use, emergency procedures, and other safety-related topics. Develop and distribute safety training materials.
- Accident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses to determine causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are consistently followed across the manufacturing facility. Maintain up-to-date records of safety audits, inspections, and training.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop and oversee emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure employee preparedness for emergencies.
- Safety Reporting: Prepare and submit safety reports, including incident reports, inspection findings, and compliance documentation to management.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Safety Committee Participation: Lead or participate in safety committee meetings to discuss safety issues, review incident reports, and develop action plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to workplace safety. Implement improvements to safety programs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associates Degree
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role within the manufacturing industry.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar certifications preferred.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
- Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: This position works in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to various hazards such as noise, dust, chemicals, and heavy machinery.
- Physical Demands: Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
