Description:
The Skills Lab Coordinator is responsible to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the different nursing programs' skills lab instruction. The Skills Lab Coordinator provides effective input in the areas of staffing, scheduling, educating, supporting, and evaluating faculty. In addition, they assist with covering for faculty absences by being proficient at teaching all the different skills lab courses provided by the university. The Skills Lab Coordinator carries a teaching load. The Skills Lab Coordinator assists with curriculum development and supply ordering and inventory for the skills lab. The Skills Lab Coordinator helps to ensure skills lab courses are taught collaboratively by the different instructors and has authority to guide employees and to achieve and maintain standards of excellence in teaching to ensure students derive the most optimal benefits from each learning experience. This position is located on our Draper, UT campus.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:
- Participate on the hiring team for faculty
- Provide input for the course schedule and faculty assignments
- Plan and participate in regularly scheduled faculty development meetings
- Assist with the performance evaluation of faculty members as requested by the Associate Dean whereas it pertains to their professional development and student engagement using observations and relevant data such as end of course surveys and course pass rates
- Assist with faculty semester reviews as requested by the Associate Dean
- Assist with faculty annual reviews as requested by the Associate Dean and help create an individual annual faculty professional development plan
- Provide input to the Associate Dean and Nursing Program Chairs for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum
- Assist with student inquiries and direct them as needed to the appropriate academic nursing leader
- Provide input for departmental succession planning
- Help to ensure course content is prepared for students and taught consistently across sections
- Ensure instructors are teaching collaboratively and working to achieve course outcomes
- Evaluate course skills pass offs for accuracy
- Review institutional and program policies, procedure, and publications
- Coordinate efforts with administration to ensure that the program is compliant with institutional accreditation standards
- Participate in commencement and pinning ceremony activities
- Successfully represent the University and nursing programs to state and national regulatory and accreditation agencies
- Assist with committee work
- Teach course as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- License: Unencumbered Registered Nurse in the State of Utah (Required), Certified Educator (Preferred)
- Education: Master's Degree in Nursing (Required); Doctoral Degree in Nursing (Preferred
- Experience: Online and on-ground teaching, and curriculum design experience 2-3 years
