CELL CULTURE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Isolation, growth, subculture of mammalian cell cultures.
- Tissue dissection and small animal surgery.
- Lab maintenance, stocking, cleaning.
- Digital and hardcopy recordkeeping.
- Microscope work.
- Quality Control testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Depending on personal aptitude, the candidate may also be involved in cell isolation and other cell-based research & development projects.
CELL CULTURE TECHNICIAN CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- A B.S. degree in cell biology or closely related field.
- 1-2 years laboratory experience, or equivalent, is preferred.
- Possess a great work ethic
- Track record of completing tasks in precise and punctual fashion.
- Possess outstanding manual dexterity and be able to carry out aseptic work.
- Be able to carry out calculations necessary for determining cell doubling time, cell concentration, seeding density, molarity, etc.
- Be comfortable with what can sometimes be repetitive work, including extended use of microscopes.
- Be extremely neat and detail-oriented.
- Be familiar with life science laboratory equipment.
