The company’s full-service excavation capacities span commercial and industrial construction as well as emergency repairs, with experience across the private and public sectors in Ohio and the Midwest.
We are seeking a Site Superintendent to join our growing team. The site superintendent will be responsible for performing their job duties in a safe and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the construction industry, but training is provided.
Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a pre-employment drug screening. The project manager will be responsible to get to various job sites throughout the area and manager multiple foremen.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
- Ensure all private and public locates have been performed.
- Make sure drop box has all information needed for the crew.
- Turn in all daily safety paperwork.
- Brief crew daily on tasks and locations for work to be performed.
- Represent company in all project meetings.
- Work closely with customers and GC for scheduling.
- Assist in site schedule (3 week look ahead)
- Tracking all materials being utilized on project.
- Scheduling/Managing subcontractors.
- Make sure crew has all equipment lined up and mobilized to the job
- Staking/layout is complete and ready for crew.
- Ensure crews understand the job and prints.
- As- built completed throughout the project.
- Safety on the job is being followed per OSHA standards and customer / company policies.
- Continued communication with the customer throughout the project
- Continued communication with company PM throughout the project
- Assisting in recruiting and retention of employees
- Assisting with managing of company equipment on your site. Making sure all equipment is working per manufactures recommendations and all equipment workorders are filled out and or taken care of.
- Tracking of rental equipment
- Training of new employees and teaching them the COMPANY Way
- Assist with billing each month.
- Approve company job cost invoices.
- Manage T&M tickets.
- Customer relations
- Bring in new business.
- Communicating issues and solving issues with manpower, schedule, and equipment
- Required Skills & Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of underground utility construction with hands on experience with excavation/trenching
- Customer service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop positive working relationships.
- Analytical skills for handling unexpected issues and delays
- Initiative for generating business opportunities.
- Leadership skills for delegating tasks to subcontractors and employees
- Speaking skills for providing clear orders to subcontractors and employees
- Technical skills for interpreting construction methods, specifications, and drawings
- History of working successfully with a team to complete a common goal, “team player.”
- Time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Writing skills to document work progress, change orders and everyday reporting.
- Regularly report project status to project managers and or GC
- Knowledge and experience on how to read and understand blueprints.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines, equipment, and construction procedures
- High school or equivalent education
- Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
- Subject to pre-employment drug test and MVR
- Must be able to meet physical demands of the position; ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- A positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things new ways
