Job Summary:
The CFO directs all financial activities of Trends International, Art.com, and AllPosters.com, collaborating closely with the President/CEO to shape company-wide financial strategies. This role is a key member of the corporate management team and will be responsible for leading the financial health and strategy of the organization.
General Responsibilities:
- Direct all financial activities, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, financial forecasting and cost proposals for the company. Develop Annual Operating Plan and Three-Year Plan and other Long-Term Modeling.
- Work closely with the President/CEO on financial strategy, growth initiatives, and high-level decision-making, while playing an integral role in long-term strategic planning.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and develop presentations to the Board.
- Manage banking relationships in both the US and Canada, oversee all lease arrangements, and handle contract negotiations related to office spaces and business facilities. Includes ongoing bank covenant compliance and borrowing base calculations and forecasting.
- Constantly monitor cash flow performance and cash forecasting.
- Manage and supervise all Tax functions including income tax compliance and consulting and sales tax compliance for the “direct to consumer” business line.
- Supervise company-wide insurance policies and collaborate with external insurance brokers.
- Handle legal issues in coordination with company counsel, ensuring well-documented case files for non-HR matters.
- Lead the development of complex cost proposals and perform business analysis to ensure profitability. Responsible for pricing strategy and cost management.
- Oversee the annual management incentive compensation program and coordinate spot and annual bonuses, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and attention to cost structure and impact.
- Provide leadership and guidance for operational activities, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Optimize business processes for improved ROI and operational efficiency. Provide ongoing analysis to ensure financial discipline in all areas of the business.
- Ensure financial accountability, fiscal controls, and statutory compliance.
- Oversee preparation and annual review of financial statements; this includes domestic entities as well as the legal entities in Canada and Mexico.
- Act on behalf of the President/CEO when needed, representing the organization in internal and external matters.
- Operate as an executive leader and influencer within the organization, setting the example of quality leadership.
- Coach, mentor, direct all direct reports to create highly impactful, high performing teams.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the President/CEO

Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management experience, with proven leadership in a $60M + business. Experience working with a Board of Directors is preferred. Distribution industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or a related field is required. CPA certification is preferred.
- MBA or master’s degree preferred.
