Opportunity to join a leading biotechnology company, focused on helping individuals with GI disorders and autoimmune diseases. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for receipt, handling and processing of laboratory samples and providing laboratory testing support services. In addition, you may support sample request activities by pulling samples out of cold storage/inventory. This is a 100% onsite, Tuesday-Saturday, 4-month temporary position!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1+ years related experience.
- Data entry experience.
- Experience working in a CLIA/CAP regulated environment preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate in a one on one and small group situation.
- Ability to understand basic medical terminology.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving deviations from standard operating procedures in fast paced environment.
- Ability to understand and comply with all applicable laboratory regulated guidelines.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Opens patient sample boxes and retrieves specimen for testing.
- Correctly identifies and/or labels patient specimen by verifying patient identification on the sample to that on test requisition, following standard operating procedures.
- Prepares and aliquot samples for requested testing.
- Quarantines unknown shipments or samples in unacceptable conditions.
- Accurately sorts and files laboratory specimens and documents for storage.
- Orders tests requested in the laboratory information system.
- May retrieve samples out of inventory based on sample requests and maintain accuracy of inventory by location.
- Organizes patient specimens for testing.
- Utilizes scanning equipment to capture patient documents received.
- Required to follow all safety procedures, policies and precautions, including GxP.
- May respond to freezer alarms and coordinate transfer of contents as required.

Compensation for roles at Suna Solutions varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific client, office or remote location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Suna Solutions provides a reasonable pay scale to include the hourly or salary range that Suna Solutions reasonably expects to pay for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below.
Pay Scale of Starting Pay for role: $23-$24/hr.
