Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager / Associate Director of Electrical Engineering to join their team in San Diego. This leadership role will be critical in guiding their electrical engineering department and ensuring the successful delivery of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in electrical engineering within the renewable energy sector, along with strong leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all engineering deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for electrical engineering processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical analyses to support project proposals and design decisions.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to communicate project progress and resolve technical issues.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes, and drive innovation within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree or relevant certification (PE) is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior role within the renewable energy sector (EPC experience is a must).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design for solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams and complex projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD, PVSyst, ETAP, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
