Associate Attorney - Criminal Defense
Job description
Shnider Law Firm is a client-centered criminal defense law firm seeking a passionate and tenacious attorney to join our San Jose Office.
Ideal candidates will have criminal trial experience, preferably as a prosecutor or a public defender. You will be handed cases from start to finish (prefile to trial).
The position requires a resourceful, proactive, autonomous, and motivated individual.

Attorney Shnider has practiced in courthouses throughout the United States but now focuses on State and Federal cases in the Bay Area. We also handle Domestic Violence, Civil Harassment, Gun Violence, and Workplace Violence Restraining Order cases.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a practicing, licensed attorney in criminal law
- Current membership with the State Bar of California with no history of misconduct
- A passion for criminal defense
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Possess a general understanding of case review, trial preparation, litigation issues, court process, and familiarity with trial/local rules
- Detail-orientated, organized, and able to multitask
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others
- Critical thinker who can identify the strengths/weaknesses of a case
- Embrace Technology
- Live/travel in South Bay Area (Santa Clara, Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz)
- Treat all people with respect and professionalism
Preferably, but not required:
- Jury Trial experience
- Experience as a prosecutor or public defender
- Speak a language other than English
- Experience going above and beyond clients’ expectations

Pay
$120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This is a great opportunity with a competitive salary and great benefits.
