The General Manager of Strange Delight is responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring a superior guest experience through excellent hospitality and service. The General Manager must possess strong leadership skills, a friendly yet competitive spirit, and a passion for hospitality, building high-performing teams, and delivering hospitality to all stakeholders. This position reports directly to ownership.
What you'll do:
● Plan, coordinate and execute the expansion of Strange Delight services with a high degree of excellence and success.
● Lead all team members in delivering consistent, memorable moments of hospitality and service for our guests
● Responsible and accountable for all elements of multiple services a week, consisting of lunch, brunch, and dinner time periods, providing additional support as needed to guarantee the success of the restaurant
● Monitor inventory, loss, and spill-waste to maximize financial and operational efficiency
● Collaborate with management team to keep a continuous pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and strengthen a devoted base of regulars
● Consistently offer positive and constructive feedback to drive a high-performing team dedicated to hospitality, excellence, and achievement of business goals
● Foster a close partnership with the kitchen management team, ensuring alignment on business goals and initiatives
● Provide coaching and guidance to all team members, ensuring that pathways for growth and development are attainable for all
● Balance day-to-day operational and administrative responsibilities with excellence, using sound judgment to make decisions that are best for both the short term and long-term health of the business
● Build an infrastructure and foundation for operational excellence through clarity of roles, goals, and resources, ensuring that all systems and processes are efficient and accessible
Administrative Responsibilities
● Review and process payroll on a weekly basis
● Ensure all invoices and bills are properly reviewed and submitted for payment in a timely manner
● Document and circulate SOPs, checklists, and policies for running a smooth service
● Ensure menu prices are regularly reviewed to adjust for pricing fluctuations
● Ensure a stock of plateware, glassware, flatware, disposables and smallwares are maintained
● Create an ordering schedule to ensure the a successful and robust beverage program
Required qualifications
● 2+ years of leadership experience in a similar establishment
● DOH Certification
● Designing a service handbook for FOH staff
Preferred qualifications:
● Demonstrated experience with payroll platforms (Gusto), Restaurant Inventory software, scheduling software (7shifts) and Toast POS, including but not limited to: menu management and configuration, basic troubleshooting and support, inventory management and costing.
● TIPS certification
● English fluency and Spanish knowledge
What you’ll get from us:
● Salary range between $90,000 - $105,000 plus bonus potential based on achieving top line sales and profitability targets
