Our client, is a leading provider of cloud-based software that simplifies, digitizes, and automates back-office financial processes for small and mid-sized businesses, seeks an accomplished Senior Payroll Specialist.
** JOB TITLE: Senior Payroll Specialist
** LOCATION: Hybrid Role 3 days Remote | 2 Days onsite @ 6220 America Center Drive Suite 100 San Jose, CA 95002
** DURATION: 3 months +
** WORK SCHEDULE: Specific days in office: Tues, Thurs.
Pay Rate: $55.00/hr. - $57.00 (depending upon experience).
NOTE: Looking for a Sr Payroll Specialist who has experience with processing larger payrolls (public companies at 2000+ employees). Must have US Workday Payroll and Workday Time and Attendance experience. Payroll accounting experience. Must be available to work the full 3 months without time off. Candidates with a pre-planned vacation will not be eligible. Must know how to process end to end payroll in Workday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and process end-to-end multi-state payrolls for over 2000 employees
- Process and submit employee equity transactions and related tax withholding through Workday Payroll
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all payroll remittances and reporting
- Proven experience with year-end close and W-2 processing
- Ensures compliance of payroll SOX controls and maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations
- Provide timely response to inquiries from HR, accounting, managers, employees, government, and other third-party agencies utilizing knowledge and interpretation of policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Conduct audits of data changes and requests to ensure compliance with company policy and practices
- Manage time and attendance workflow to ensure all time sheets, time off requests, and other payroll data is received timely and are accurate, complete and in compliance with state and federal payroll standards.
- Handle day-today payroll activities and resolve payroll related discrepancies
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required10+ years of experience processing end-to-end payroll and equity transactions
- Strong knowledge of Workday Payroll, as well as federal and state regulations
- Demonstrated Payroll Accounting experience
- Can think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, as well as part of a team and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require
- Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work with others and follow through to execute all tasks
- Commitment to customer service with a strong sense of ownership for projects and results
- Candidate should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and be able to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, G-Suite
