G. Brown Design is seeking a creative team player who is looking for an opportunity to grow and has strong design interest in site design, planting design, construction documentation, strong technical skills, and efficient communication skills. Our designers are expected to become involved with the complete design process, from conceptual sketches through construction period services. The individual should be dependable, detail oriented, energetic, and self-motivated.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Actual skills & abilities are more important than years of experience
- Landscape Architect License is preferred but not required
Job Description:
- Assist with planting design, irrigation design, grading, layout plans
- Assist with assembly of specifications
- Assist with production of construction document packages
- Produce graphics to effectively communicate design ideas to clients
- Assist with production and development of Proposals, Master Plans, & Programming Documents
- Assist in marketing efforts such as maintaining website, developing e-mailers, and social media sites
- Clear understanding of phases of design (schematic through to construction)
- Ability to identify tasks necessary to take project from start-up to completion
- Ability to identify critical path tasks necessary to keep projects on schedule and on budget
- Ability to coordinate detailed drawings between multiple disciplines (architects, civil engineering, surveying, etc.)
- Demonstrate experience in construction documentation (Construction detailing, layout plans, grading, planting and irrigation plans), including specifications
- Document writing and compilation - e.g., proposals, master plan & programming documents

- Strong communication and writing skills
- Strong presentation and graphic skills
- Problem solving skills, detail oriented
- AutoCAD proficiency, with LandFX, SketchUp, and Lumion preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign as well as hand graphics and drafting skills are necessary.
