Our client is currently seeking a OPERATIONS MANAGER in the Rockford, IL area.
The Operations Manager supports the Plant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the processing plant. This role involves managing production activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising production activities to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Quality Control: Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet internal and external standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of supervisors and workers, providing training and support as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary materials.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on production performance, quality issues, and other operational metrics to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food processing environment.
- 5+ years management level experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong KPI experience
- Strong Continuous Improvement background (5s, 6s, TPM)
- Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of HACCP and other food safety standards.
