This innovative team is looking to expand and is searching for a talented Embedded Hardware Engineer to help drive their next big project.
Role Overview
They are seeking a Hardware System Architect with hands-on experience in wearable or IoT hardware development. Ideal candidates have a strong track record and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You'll lead the development of reference hardware devices featuring Wi-R chips, such as smartglasses, earbuds, smartwatches, and more. Responsibilities include overseeing hardware development, designing, prototyping, debugging, and testing embedded systems that integrate electronics, mechanics, optics, and software. You'll also build schematics, complete board layouts, integrate designs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, specify components, and customize vendor reference designs into innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hardware development, ensuring optimal performance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded systems combining electronics, mechanics, optics, and software.
- Develop schematics, complete board layouts, and integrate designs into opto-electro-mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, research, NPI, and supply chain.
- Customize vendor designs and specify components for custom solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in circuit design, system integration, and debugging.
- Experience with low-power circuits, analog design, DC/DC converters, and communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, USB, etc.).
- Mixed-signal board design and RF integration (Wi-Fi, BT, GPS).
- Experience partnering with software teams for firmware and drivers.
- Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with embedded systems, cameras, optical systems, and Android/Linux.
