Sr Associate- Project Finance and M&A
Position Overview:
My client's renewable division is expanding, and together we are seeking a dynamic Associate/Senior Associate of Project Finance to join their growing team. This role will be essential in supporting renewable energy projects by driving our Project Finance, M&A, Tax Equity, and Capital Markets strategies. My client develops, owns and operates projects in nine different states and three different ISOs / RTOs. The Company currently has 1.8GW / 6,000+ acres under development!
The team has grown from 4 people in 2022 to 40 people today with a plans to grow to 50, by the end of 2025.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Legal, and Operations, to ensure financial alignment and strategic growth in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Finance: Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project financing transactions, including term sheets, credit agreements, and other financing documents.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Assist in evaluating, negotiating, and executing acquisitions and divestitures.
- Tax Equity: Participate in structuring and securing tax equity financing to optimize the capital stack for renewable projects.
- Capital Markets: Support debt and equity capital raising efforts, working with internal teams and external investors to meet the financial needs of the company’s renewable energy projects.
- Conduct financial modeling, due diligence, and scenario analysis to evaluate project risks and returns.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to evaluate new project opportunities, ensuring the financial viability of potential investments.
- Prepare detailed presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders regarding financing strategies and market trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in project finance, capital markets, M&A, or tax equity, ideally in the renewable energy sector.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
