POSITION SUMMARY
The Civil Technician–II (CT-II) is an intermediate to senior-level position. The CT-II assists with the creation and communication of two- & three-dimensional contract documents for Transportation projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with Project Managers, Civil Designers and Civil Technicians to create accurate contract documents.
- Exhibits a general to intermediate technical knowledge of applicable road, highway, bridge projects.
- Uses experience and minimal supervision from others to create accurate construction drawings, including layout, geometry, utility, grading, profiles, cross sections, summary tables and other related plans according to company, client or regulatory agency standards, methods, and procedures.
- Creates complex Architectural or Structural details utilizing experience and information provided by Project Managers and Engineers.
- Creates Maintenance of Traffic and Detour plans.
- Uses a basic to intermediate knowledge of the various AutoCAD Civil 3D modules to incorporate and annotate Civil 3D design models into construction drawings.
- Assists the Civil Technicians with the printing and assembly of construction drawing plans sets.
- Maintains and organizes all project drafting-related documentation including computerized data and files.
- Completes assignments on time and within budget.
- Performs duties that may include (but are not limited to) document QC/QA, field investigations, basic computations for cost estimates/quantity takeoffs or other non-technical duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Drafting/Technology (or similar program) or 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong verbal communications skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Project Managers, Civil Designers, and Civil Technicians are necessary.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically indoors and usually sits for long periods.
