We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payment Coordinator to join our team. The Payment Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts, processing payments, and ensuring accurate billing practices. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and post payments from patients and insurance companies accurately and promptly.
- Review patient accounts for discrepancies and resolve any billing issues.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, payment plans, and outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to verify coverage and resolve any claims issues.
- Generate and distribute patient statements and invoices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and respond to billing inquiries in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the administrative team to ensure smooth billing operations.
- Stay informed about changes in billing regulations and insurance policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, payment processing, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures and insurance claim processing.
- Proficiency with billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
