Position Overview
We are seeking a Graduate Engineer, Electrical to join our client’s team. In this role, you will apply your professional and technical expertise to design electrical engineering concepts that align with the owner’s vision for each project. A solid understanding of the consulting engineering process and the associated contractual documents is essential.
Responsibilities
- Determine project scope and utilize software programs to create electrical system designs, including lighting, power distribution, emergency generation systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Develop cost-effective system layouts, quantities/sizes, and specifications while ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
- Prepare and layout BIM drawings and coordinate with other disciplines throughout all project phases.
- Conduct construction administration tasks such as site observations, shop drawing reviews, and preparation of punch lists.
- Define project scope and ensure accurate reflection in contract documents, proactively managing any variances to maintain client satisfaction.
- Maintain excellent communication and business relationships with clients, partners, architects, and code officials throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in electrical engineering design for commercial buildings (aviation, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, or government facilities preferred).
- Experience coordinating with multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Familiarity with various project delivery methods, including design-build and fast-track.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national codes affecting engineering practices.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and other engineering software programs.
- Strong technical/computer skills, including Microsoft O365 applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
