Title: Creative Strategist - Social Media
Location: Remote (NYC or LA preferred)
Duration: 6 months (Strong potential to extend or convert to full-time in 2025)
A top beauty retailer is seeking a talented Creative Strategist - Social Media to join their team. This role will support the Director of Social Creative in crafting strategies for always-on content across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Threads, and Pinterest.
You’ll be responsible for turning business and product priorities into engaging, social-first stories, developing content pillars and creative briefs, and managing content creation from concept to production. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative content strategies and social-first stories across multiple platforms.
- Conceptualize both high-production and low-production content, aligning it with business priorities.
- Create and manage editorial calendars, mood boards, and pitch decks.
- Provide creative direction, art direct others, and create content when necessary.
Must-Have Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in content, editorial, or creative strategy with an art direction background.
- Extensive social media experience (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.).
- Ability to simplify business goals into clear, creative content strategies.
- Strong background in beauty or retail industries.
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and navigating ambiguity.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience at multi-brand companies like Sephora, Target, or Macy’s, or with major beauty brands or media/content publishers like Vox or Vulture.
- Based in NYC or LA due to frequent shoots in these locations.
- Experience in both high- and low-production content creation.
