I'm excited to be working on a new Director/Associate Director of Commercial Forecasting role with one of my clients on the East Coast. In this role you'll be responsible for leading the forecasting function for in-line brands within the organization. This role will collaborate with the Commercial Development team on lifecycle management and future business development initiatives to integrate new product and indication approvals into forecasts.
The position will utilize data to develop, maintain, and create scenario plans for demand forecasting needs for a publicly traded company. Analytics and forecasting requirements include monthly and quarterly actuals, 6-18 month Latest Estimates, and 5-10 year Long Range Plan projections. Additionally, this role will create and present weekly and monthly performance dashboards to support strategic development and tactical implementations, guiding the business in its commitment to serving patients effectively.
You'll be responsible for the following;
- Leading and owning activities to ensure accurate and timely forecasting deliverables.
- Managing relationships with external forecasting consultant, who will provide support to refresh, update, maintain, refine, develop new approaches, and deliver the Demand Forecast.
- Collaborating with Commercial Development Team to develop and understand pipeline PDUFA dates and forecasts as assets move through clinical development programs and integrate into long range plan forecasts to elucidate long term value of the organization as a publicly traded company.
- Coordinating process by which forecast assumptions and results are reviewed and drive decision-making on forecast assumptions with stakeholders; track actual net sales performance relative to forecast, explain sources of variance.
- Communicating results and variance explanations to Brand and Senior Management through standard monthly and quarterly reporting, or ad-hoc requests.
- Providing guidance and strategic recommendations to Senior Leadership on performance, business risks and opportunities.
- Enhancing decision making by providing analytical rigor through development of scenarios, modeling risks & uncertainties, and clarifying trade-offs.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in a Pharmaceutical, Medical Device or Biotechnology company working in a commercial role.
- Bachelors Degree required, MBA would be preferred
- 5+ years of analytical experience
- 2+ years direct involvement with executing demand forecasting
- Proficient in building and managing Excel forecast models
- Experience with secondary data [e.g., APLD medical claims data, audited TRx data, and epidemiology references]
