SUMMARY
The EHS Specialist is a key asset to creating a culture of safety and environmental compliance conducive to the successful growth of the Martin companies. Working as part of the Martin team, the individual filling this role will have the opportunity to support company leadership by ensuring EHS regulatory compliance. This individual will also have the flexibility to visit multiple facilities across several states. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate Martin's guiding principles of Integrity, Customer Focus, Value Creation, Respect, and Humility with Internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and manage facility EHS programs and permits related to Air, OSHA Construction, OSHA General Industry, RCRA, SPCC, and Water.
- Drive continuous improvement by conducting comprehensive EHS assessments and providing recommendations where safety or environmental hazards are determined to exist.
- Complete federal, state, and local reports and permits as they relate to the EHS functions of the Martin companies.
- Participate in risk assessments to identify and evaluate hazards associated with existing and future equipment, processes, and operations.
- Provide EHS support to capital projects.
- Further develop and continually expand regulatory and technical expertise.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related disciplines.
- EHS Specialist I, 0-3 years relevant experience
- EHS Specialist II, 4-10 years relevant experience
- EHS Specialist III, >10 years relevant experience
- Ability to communicate online using email, video conferencing, and other technology based communication mediums.
- Ability to articulate complex requirements to audiences who possess a wide variety of subject matter expertise.
- Excellent written skills required.
