We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the successful planning and execution of capital projects with our industrial manufacturing client in Beaumont, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Front End Loading (FEL) phase of projects, ensuring effective planning, scope definition, and risk assessment early in the project lifecycle. This role is critical in driving projects from concept to execution while maintaining safety, quality, and budget standards.
This is a full time contract position through WRS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the FEL process, ensuring comprehensive project definition, scope development, and risk analysis to drive informed decision-making.
- Oversee all phases of capital projects, from concept through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, with a focus on timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and milestones.
- Develop detailed project schedules and budgets. Monitor progress, control costs, and ensure adherence to timelines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify project risks during the FEL phase and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure all project work meets regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, key milestones, budget performance, and any emerging risks.
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and deliverables to meet project goals.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading the FEL phase of capital projects, particularly within the chemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. PMP certification is a plus.
- 8+ years of project management experience, preferably in the chemical manufacturing industry or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and familiarity with engineering and construction processes in industrial settings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively manage stakeholders and teams.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements in industrial or manufacturing projects.
This role will be a nested contract position through WRS with the opportunity to go direct at our client's discretion.
