Network Security Engineer
Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Network Engineer to work on a direct hire position. The salary range is $116,000 to $130,000/year, plus bonus compensation. This is a hybrid role onsite Tuesday through Thursday in Cary, NC. Monday and Friday remote work is available.

Responsibilities of the Network Security Engineer:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade firewall solutions to enforce network security policies and protect against advanced threats.
- Inspecting and managing network traffic (source vs. destination) and enforcing security policies, particularly blocking or allowing traffic.
- Understand and implement controlled access in a security environment.
- Configure and deploy security tools and technologies specific to cloud environments, including web application firewalls and cloud-native security services.
- Architect and deploy secure access service edge solutions to comprehensively protect distributed networks and remote users.
- Implement and optimize identity and access management systems, adhering to least privilege principles.
- Utilize Microsoft Security Suite tools for threat detection, investigation, and response across on-premises and cloud environments.
Requirements for the Senior Network Security Engineer:
5+ years of experience in security-related disciplines specializing in Network Security Engineering
Experience with as many of these technologies as possible:
- Firewall/Network Security: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, Firewall Security architecture, Routing, Switching, VPNs
- MFA/Zero Trust: Okta, Cisco Duo
- Cloud: Azure, OCI, Secure Service Edge
- Endpoint: Microsoft Defender
- SIEM/SOAR: Microsft Sentinel
- IAM: Azure AD, Certificates and Authentication, Principle of least privilege (PoLP)
- Automation: Ansible, Python, or Powershell
Ability to convey complex security issues effectively and professionally.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
