The Senior Product Manager will be a key member of the commercial team and will be responsible for a broad range of initiatives to develop and grow a new opportunity in the orthopedics space.
This individual will be a product owner, responsible for market development and downstream marketing activities. The role will touch multiple elements of the sales cycle, including customer targeting, therapy awareness, professional education, product training, and reimbursement. The Senior Product Manager will develop content and implement programs that build therapy awareness and result in successful product usage. An effective senior manager will have a strong business acumen and a will to make it happen.
The Senior Product Manager must be detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple changing priorities, committed to managing and influencing across multiple stakeholders, and driven to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
This position requires a strong link with functional teammates in Sales, Professional Education, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research, R & D, and Operations. Prior experience working with and supporting US-based, medical device sales teams required.
Responsibilities
Market Development
- Support campaigns (PR, e-mail, social media, sales and marketing collateral) to achieve surgeon and patient awareness objectives
- Summarize and communicate key clinical findings to support therapy development
- Develop and manage patient directed programs (direct to patient, patient advocacy)
- Oversee system to manage inbound surgeon and patient inquiries with appropriate and timely response
- Track, analyze, and report relevant metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of market development efforts
Downstream Marketing
Product management:
- Serve as a source of internal and external product support (sales, professional education, customers)
- Become vendor credentialed and be willing and able to support cases in the OR on an as-needed basis
Sales enablement:
- Create relevant sales and marketing collateral
- Contribute to content library to support initial and continuing education
- Develop talk tracks and training tools to support field team, including product and surgical demonstrations
Brand management:
- Maintain creative assets and communication channels, including corporate and patient websites, social media accounts
- Enforce corporate and product brand guidelines
- Manage projects with PR and creative agencies/consultants to deliver brand-consistent collateral
- The Product Manager serves as the product subject matter expert across the business and champions the product, trains and advises others
Meetings and events management:
- Manage all aspects various meetings and events (clinical congresses, surgeon user meetings, commercial team events) including booth property, educational and promotional activities, speaker management, content development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of product marketing/product management experience in medical devices with FDA approved products is required. Must have some combination of experience with interventional procedures and/or implantable devices and demonstrated success supporting field-based sales teams.
Technical Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce (preferred)
- Digital marketing savvy
- Successfully managed creative and PR agencies and partners
- Can read and interpret peer-reviewed clinical publications
- Experience working with FDA approved medical devices and applicable regulations and guidelines
- Track record of achieving goals
Managerial Experience
Direct supervisory experience not required, but must have some combination of experience managing projects with surgeons, PR/creative agencies, graphic artists, print vendors, video production teams, market research firms, bioskills labs, etc.
