TYPICAL DUTIES: This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required:
1. Researches and resolves application problems.
2. Analyzes and refines College applications requirements.
3. Designs, programs, tests, and documents solutions to College requirements.
4. Works with the users to test solutions.
5. Rigorously applies internal procedures and policies to ensure quality work.
6. Logs and resolves software work orders.
7. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
8. Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Skilled in both verbal and written communication
• Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural diverse working environment
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code using software development best practices
• Enterprise or transactional programming for applications
• GUI applications in Windows environment
• Windows, command prompt, and PowerShell
• Windows terminal emulators such as PuTTY, Telnet or similar
• Client side scripting languages such as VBScript and JavaScript
• Database development, Access and SQL Server preferred
• SQL query language, SQL Server preferred
• Reporting tools, SSRS and Informer preferred
• Data migration and integration tools, SSIS preferred
• UniData, U2, Pick or similar “Multi-Valued” database concepts and application development
• Proficiency with business basic programming languages
• Colleague/Envision basic programming and Colleague Studio strongly preferred
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: EDUCATION: Associate’s degree with at least three (3) years of recent work experience in application programming; or 4 or more years of position-relevant experience (these experiences may run concurrently with the experience requirements below).
