Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Development Manager to join our Development Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day management and processing of multi-family apartment projects. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with governmental agencies, managing due diligence efforts for land acquisition, financing, and contracts, and supporting various aspects of project development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Manage and support the coordination between the development team and governmental agencies to ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
- Due Diligence Management: Organize and manage due diligence efforts for land acquisition, financing, and contracts, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and reviewed.
- Feasibility Research: Conduct research and prepare initial project information to assess feasibility and inform project decisions.
- Bid Process Management: Oversee the consultant bidding process, including sending out invitations to bid, tracking responses, and preparing scopes and contracts.
- Permit Tracking: Monitor and track various permits throughout the entitlement process, ensuring timely approvals and compliance.
- Financial Modeling: Assist in basic financial modeling to support project feasibility and decision-making.
- Schedule Management: Prepare and review project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Owner Representation: Serve as the owner’s representative during construction, addressing project-related questions, attending meetings, and ensuring successful project execution.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Regularly collaborate with other divisions and working groups within the company to ensure project alignment and success.
- Travel: Occasional airplane travel may be required based on project location.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on affordable housing financing.
