About the Role
The Lead Systems Analyst will play a key role in supporting AlphaGen's commercial team in implementing, managing, and enhancing the enterprise application landscape. This will include critical business systems such as the ERP, EAM, and ETRM for AlphaGen. It will be essential that the Lead Systems Analyst has excellent communication skills and is able to distill complex technical information to nontechnical audiences. This SME will have a professional background that includes significant, immediate or recent experience in supporting an oil/gas/power trading environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of information and technology systems ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Responsible for serving as point of contact for all business units responsible for managing/reporting on progress for BAU issues/enhancements in addition to small projects.
- Facilitate discussions with relevant business leaders to define a prioritized backlog of change and project related work.
- Function as the subject matter expert within various business critical applications to support and drive business value through process and system solutions.
- Serve as the SME/Lead on technology implementation projects to ensure successful execution and delivery.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization, enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and minimizing errors.
- Manage and enhance data solutions and integrity across the application landscape.
Professional & Educational Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in IT support role managing an Enterprise Application landscape, with at least 5 years’ experience supporting an oil/gas/power trading environment.
- Energy/power industry experience/background required.
- Must have experience supporting an ETRM or Bid to Bill system solution and strong working knowledge of other business critical applications such as EAM or ERP is preferred. System implementation/project experience is highly preferred.
- High levels of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL. Knowledge in programming languages like Java or VBA. Reporting experience in Power BI or Spotfire are preferable additions.
- Strong experience with helping users solve process/system related problems to enhance their overall business process. Solid understanding of overall data architecture principles and data management.
- The ability to perform multiple IT related functions to support and improve overall user experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with a history of successful partnership with a host of stakeholders such as commercial operations, risk, and settlements/accounting department.
- Energized by working collaboratively with multiple departments in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science or related field. Additionally, a solid understanding of the modern commercial practice and business principles will be preferred.
