Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Compliance Manager with extensive experience in the mortgage industry to lead our compliance department. The Compliance Manager will ensure that Loan Factory adheres to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves managing regulatory audits, implementing compliance programs, and ensuring that all aspects of our operations align with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee all compliance activities related to mortgage lending, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Audit Management: Lead and manage regulatory audits, including preparation, execution, and response to findings. Ensure all audits are conducted efficiently and successfully.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure the company’s operations meet all regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor regulatory changes and ensure that all necessary updates are made to compliance programs. Regularly report compliance status and issues to senior management.
- Training: Conduct regular training sessions for staff on compliance policies, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure company-wide adherence.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks related to mortgage lending operations. Implement proactive measures to prevent compliance violations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including legal, operations, and finance, to ensure a unified approach to compliance across the organization.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all compliance activities, including audit reports, policy updates, and training records.
About You
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in mortgage compliance, with a strong background as a mortgage broker and in managing regulatory audits.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of mortgage industry regulations, including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, HMDA, and state-specific requirements.
- Audit Expertise: Proven track record in successfully managing regulatory audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and address compliance risks effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey compliance requirements and updates to all levels of the organization.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding compliant solutions that support business goals.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and influence across departments to ensure company-wide compliance.
