Description Summary:
Commercial Operations (ComOps) analyst role is responsible for supporting all analytical, contractual and market interactions for Recurrent’s contracted and operating utility-scale solar and storage projects.
The Commercial Operations group ensures Recurrent Energy’s utility-scale solar and storage projects’ actual revenue meets and exceeds revenue expectations and RE’s projects operate in accordance with all pertinent off-take agreements, debt covenants, equity stakeholder expectations and all ISO, industry, and regulatory standards.
Commercial Operations is an extension of O&S (Origination and Structuring) and is responsible for the actual monetization of all a project’s output O&S efforts narrow a project’s expected revenue over many years via the execution of long-term off-take agreement. The ComOps group determines a project’s actual revenue within the range of expectations for each distinct reporting period.
The position will work extensively with different regions and other centralized teams including Origination and Structuring, Legal, Corporate Finance/Planning, Development, and Project Finance.
This Commercial Operations analyst role is a CRITICAL function to execute Recurrent Energy’s transition from a develop and flip entity to a long-term owner-operator of utility-scale solar and storage projects globally.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, monitor and track ALL contractual aspects related to a project’s long term off-take agreement upon signage, through project construction/execution and post commercial operations date (COD).
- Perform power market economic analysis related to renewable energy; manage shadow settlements and coordinate billing and revenue expectations with Corporate Finance; manage ISO/RTO disputes.
- Possess and maintain an insatiable desire to learn about U.S. and Canadian wholesale power markets and apply this knowledge to help shape Recurrent Energy’s development pipeline and contracted projects’ off-take agreements.
- Coordinate with Scheduling Coordinators to manage settlement statements and associated data.
- Assist in the vetting and selection of each project’s ISO scheduling coordinator and market output optimizer where applicable.
- Build and maintain tools and standards to streamline process, data analysis, project tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Assist in the development, preparation, and analysis of performance & financial reports for the operating projects; identify trends across project inputs and KPIs.
- Assist in a project’s compliance with all regulatory, legal, and other reporting obligations for during operations.
