Fiber Technician
We are looking for a Fiber Technician in Memphis, Tennessee who has Fiber Optic cabling and testing experience. This is a large project that is slated to begin the week of October 28th. There are 3 different shifts for the role.
This is an onsite role in Memphis, Tennessee.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Fiber Optic cabling and testing
- Data center experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of fiber optic cable and connector types
Core Skills:
- Proper installation and handling of fiber optic cabling
- Connecting pre-terminated fiber optic cables to patch panels and High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems
- Testing fiber optic cables using Tier I Loss certification test equipment
- Inspecting connector end faces with fiber optic scopes
- Familiarity with Data Center cabling standards and best practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and execute installation based on provided Scope of Work documents
- Adhere to daily work schedules, with flexibility to adjust as needed
- Uphold safety standards and best practices throughout the project
- Maintain professional and prompt communication, delivering updates to the POD Lead via phone, email, and timely submissions
- Proper use and maintenance of test equipment
- Follow standard Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to complete assigned tasks
Job Requirements:
- Technicians must be able to work 10-hour shifts to include weekend work
- Must have a valid US Passport or State Issued ID
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must have PPE Gear (Hardhat, Glasses, Boots)
- Must have smart phone
