FP&A CONSULTANT – FINANCE TRANSFORMATION PROJECT

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled finance transformation professional with extensive experience in implementing financial planning/enterprise performance management tools, ideally within a large publicly traded company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in FP&A, coupled with deep technical expertise in data migration, ERP integration, dimension definition, and user acceptance testing.
This role is a hybrid position with travel to the office in Los Angeles 2-3 days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the migration of financial data from legacy systems to the new financial planning tool, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness throughout the process.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to connect the financial planning tool to the company’s existing ERP system. This includes defining integration points, setting up data flows, and ensuring seamless synchronization of data between the systems.
- Work closely with the FP&A team to define and implement financial dimensions within the planning tool, ensuring that they align with business needs and reporting requirements.
- Design and develop custom reports and dashboards within the financial planning tool to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Ensure reports are optimized for performance and meet the specific needs of different business units.
- Facilitate user access management, including setting up roles, permissions, and user profiles. Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the tool meets the functional and technical requirements before full deployment.
- Provide training to end-users and create detailed documentation on the new processes and tool usage to ensure smooth adoption and ongoing success.
- Ensure all aspects of the implementation, including documentation, testing, and deployment, comply with SOX and SDLC requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems related field.
- 5+ years of functional experience implementing and configuring financial planning tools like Planful, Hyperion, Adaptive Planning, or other mid to large size planning or EPM tools.
- Demonstrated experience in data migration and integration with ERP systems, preferably within a publicly traded company.
- Strong understanding of financial dimensions and experience in defining and implementing them in financial planning tools.
- Extensive experience in building and optimizing financial reports and dashboards within FP&A tools.
- Proven ability to lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage user access and roles within financial software.
- In-depth knowledge of SOX and SDLC requirements, with experience in ensuring compliance during software implementations.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
