Join our expanding creative team in the heart of vibrant West Hollywood! As an video editor at Abstraction Media, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting, comedy-centric short-form content including stand-up comedy, podcasts, promotional campaigns, and more.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re currently seeking a versatile video editor who excels in cutting short-form comedy clips. We value individuals who keeps their finger on the pulse of current editing trends in social media and online culture. This position will often require you to work without scripts and with minimal direction. Although this is a team environment, the ideal candidate is a problem solver who can independently make and execute nuanced creative decisions while still adhering to brand image and established workflows.
Our company primarily cuts in DaVinci Resolve. Strong knowledge and experience with Resolve is preferred, though we welcome applicants who are open to mastering Resolve if they are experienced with similar NLEs. Experience with motion graphics, color, design, or sound are also significant advantages that will set you apart.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, identify, and evaluate content for potential short-form clips
- Generate accurate logs and transcripts for efficient content management
- Create videos optimized for various social media platforms
- Perform basic color correction and audio mixing adjustments
- Work collaboratively with team to refine and enhance videos based on feedback
- Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to develop targeted content
- Adhere to all established workflow standards to maintain consistency
- Engage with content databases, track progress, and contribute to ongoing efforts to improve workflow efficiency
- Maintain effective communication and stay organized to meet project deadlines and deliverable requirements
- Create visually appealing thumbnails and cover images for videos
QUALIFICATIONS
- Expert in DaVinci Resolve
- Proficient in audio synchronization for single and multi-camera timelines
- Strong understanding of various media formats, codecs, resolutions, etc.
- Exceptional organizational and media management skills
- Basic knowledge of audio normalization and mixing
- Previous editing experience for comedy, social media, and YouTube preferred
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Up-to-date with internet culture and online trends
- Familiar with team organizational tools (Basecamp, Trello, Airtable, Google Drive, etc)
- Experience with Adobe After Effects and/or Photoshop is a plus
- Color correction/grading skills are also a plus
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000
